Okay, so even if the winter season hasn’t technically arrived, considering it’s just the beginning of December, but we’ve taken it upon ourselves to say winter has arrived!

With the temperatures dipping, and fresh snowfalls, our home owners have turned on their fireplaces (or stoked their fireplaces, depending on the fireplace!) This is really the time of year our home owners will notice a drastic change in their energy bills.

Building and living in an energy efficient home is incredibly important. For most of our home owners, it’s close to the top of their list, if not number one!

How do you make sure you are building an energy efficient home? There are many factors that determine the level of energy efficiency.

Wall insulation

R-30 wall insulation is standard in every home we build. Recently, we have introduced our new, patented R-36 wall. Building standards relating to wall insulation have went up, and continue to do, and we wanted to make sure we stayed well ahead of the game. The end result is a highly energy efficient home, while saving big on energy bills.

Thermal envelope

This provides a thermal barrier minimizing the heat flow through the floor, ceiling and walls. This, together with the R-30 to R-36 wall insulation ensures a highly energy efficient home – for the life of your home. Building your dream house is one of the biggest investments you’ll make in your lifetime, and we always want to make sure you protect your investment.

Windows

Our windows are low E argon filled 20 year windows, another factor to ensure your home in highly energy efficient. Low E insulating glass ensures greater visible light transmittance than tinted glass.

Timber Block is dedicated to our home owners, and we always guarantee a high quality, beautiful home you will love and be comfortable in forever.
