It’s Interior Design Week at Timber Block! All this week, we’re taking a look inside several Timber Block homes, and turning the focus on specific rooms, fixtures, cabinetry, etc.
Today, we are heading to the living room, and living room design. This is such a broad area, because for many people, their living room is a space where they “live”, where they spend time hanging out, watching T.V., playing games, cards….etc. For some, the living room is anything but! It may be more formal, where it’s only used for special occasions. And many home owners will have a family room and a living room – where one area is more for use, the other is for formal sitting.
Then, there’s the location of the living room. Many of our home owners have their living room facing the back of the home, mostly because plenty of our families will have an abundance of windows – even a wall of windows. The living room may include an additional sitting area, to enjoy the pleasant view.
Furniture. This is simply going to be a personal choice. The furniture you choose should feel comfortable to you and your family, plus it should also suit your style, and the style of your home. The following photos are of actual Timber Block homes and what these home owners decided on when furnishing their living rooms.
Interior Design Week Living Room Photos
This is very much a “classic” wood home. But you’ll notice the dark red couch and love seat allow for comfort, and gives the living room a “splash”!
This living room is nice and open, again with leather furniture, and a gorgeous stone fireplace.
Another home from our Classic Series, with plenty of windows, and again – a beautiful stone fireplace.
Leather is certainly a popular choice! It’s comfortable, classy and goes with any style.
Here, this home owner went with white furniture – which is a beautiful contrast with the two-toned wood, but also blends nicely with the drywall and paint.
This is fantastic….plenty of windows allowing plenty of light, and with the fireplace, the living room can’t get more cozy than this!
Stay tuned! Interior Design Week continues! More posts to come….
