From all of us at Timber Block Insulated Log Homes, we hope you are enjoying your Labor Day long weekend! We thought it would be interesting to look into the history and facts of Labor Day!

Did you know…Labor Day is celebrated in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico? It is always celebrated the first Monday in September….

The idea of Labor day started in the 1880s. New York City was the very first to have a Labor Day parade in 1882! It’s told that there were about 10,000 people who participated!

Oregon was the very first state to actually make Labor Day a legal holiday!

Labor Day became an official national holiday in 1894, thanks to the U.S. congress.

Labor Day is still celebrated with barbecues, parades, and many other special events. For many people, it represents the end of summer and the start of back-to-school!

From all of us at Timber Block we hope you are enjoying your well deserved day off!
