During the several years Timber Block
has been building homes, we have found out that the kitchen is high on the top of the list of the most important rooms of a home. It’s your log home kitchen! The place where you spend so much time – making meals, dining, getting the family together, entertaining, even padding to in the middle of the night for a glass of water! We think it’s safe to say, a beautiful – but functional – log home kitchen
is high on the list of priorities when building your dream home!
The most important thing to think about when planning your log home kitchen is to take your time. You want to really spend a lot of time thinking about what you want – the layout, the colors, the cabinets – do you want an island? Does it include a sink? Is it small or large? How about a pantry? What about appliances? Size and color?
Another important decision is where the kitchen will be located in your home. (This is much easier when building a home from scratch!) As far as this aspect goes, a good place to start is to check out our floor plans – this can very much help you check out where your kitchen will and can go. During this process, this is also where you can figure out what kind of lighting you want in your log home kitchen
– do you want lots of sun in the morning? Also with location, is if it’s going to be convenient for you. For example, is it more of an open concept, with a breakfast nook close by? Is it near your garage for convenience when bringing in your groceries? Or maybe you want it closer to the back of your home where you have French doors to a deck, patio and barbecue!
These are just a few points to help get you started when thinking about your log home kitchen! We hope this helps. While it may be a big part of your planning process, it’s also a very exciting part as well!
