Earlier this month, one of our dealers in Pennsylvania set up shop at the 55th annual West Branch Susquehanna Home Builders Show.
Ray Venema – who is the owner of Susquehanna Builders – is also a dealer of Timber Block Insulated Log Homes. On top of that, Ray is a certified Green Builder.
During the show, his impressive set-up caught the eye of a reporter, who created a featured article at www.sungazette.com.
Here’s a piece from the interview Ray did with the reporter
“You can save up to 60 percent on energy versus a traditional log home,” Venema said. The R-30 insulation exceeds all new and proposed state building codes for insulation. It also uses 60 percent less wood than standard logs, and there’s no post-construction log cracking or “checking” as the wood has a much lower moisture content.
Ray also goes onto tell the story of how he came to be a very important part of Timber Block, and why he chose to be a Timber Block dealer.
Ray is not only a certified Green Builder, a dealer of Timber Block homes, 2011 president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association.
” Prior to being elected as PBA President, Mr. Venema served PBA in a number of other positions. He has served as PBA Vice President, Secretary, Northcentral Regional Vice President and Regional Legislative Officer. He has also been active on several committees and task forces.
Locally, Mr. Venema is a member of the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association, Williamsport, for which he has served as President and Vice President. He has been named that association’s Builder of the Year in both 2004 and 2008. A graduate of Montoursville Area High School and St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mr. Venema has been involved in the home building industry for 37 years.but his resume goes on and on.” (www.susquehannabuilders.com)
We are proud to have Ray as part of the Timber Block Team. (On top of his extensive knowledge of building as a whole, we think he’s a really cool guy!)
