Once you have made the decision to build a Timber Block home, you may wonder….what is the next step?

The very first portion of the process is your design contract. Your initial deposit will be $3,000 which will get your drawings started with a Timber Block architect. During this time is when you will really get down to the nitty gritty with your floor plan. (Whether you are building a Timber Block stock plan, modifying a stock plan, or building from your own ideas).

Once your floor plan has been finalized, a delivery date will be scheduled. (You will need to have proof your permit has been obtained to prevent delays) Your home will go into production. (For more details on what happens during production, head to our technology page)

In the meantime, there is plenty to do! You and your builder will work on the foundation. This should be started, with a temporary road and driveway in place, (or at least started). You will also have to reserve a crane right away to make sure there are no scheduling delays.

Also….the floor system should be done and completed before the wall delivery (preferably a week in advance). You and your builder should also review the Timber Block Construction Manual/Assembly Guide to make sure there are no uncertainties.

This is a snapshot of the building process. Of course there are many things you will need to do, including finding, purchasing and figuring out your land, finding the right builder, permits, banking, and choosing log profiles, etc…..
