Energy-efficient homes

Our Mission

At Timber Block, we are driven by a mission and unwavering promise to provide each of our clients with energy-efficient and sustainable housing. We understand the vital importance of eco-conscious building practices and take the environmental cause to heart.

Our commitment extends beyond mere construction; it is a pledge to create living spaces that harmonize with the planet. With every project, we endeavor to reduce carbon footprints, maximize energy efficiency, and offer innovative solutions for a greener, more sustainable future. Your dream home with Timber Block not only reflects your unique vision but also embodies our dedication to a more environmentally responsible world.

Wood performs better than concrete and steel when it comes to air and water pollution. The advantages of wood are recognized by Green building rating systems including certified wood, recycled/reused materials, local sourcing of materials, waste minimization, indoor air quality, and life cycle impacts. We choose our suppliers carefully to offer the best quality and a responsible build. Third-party lumber suppliers are given priority based on the level of responsibility of their wood procurement policies.

Certification ensures that the products used in indoor environments meet stringent third-party chemical emissions standards, reducing indoor air pollution and chemical exposure. Choosing GREENGUARD Certified products creates healthier indoor spaces in homes, with the confidence that they meet the world's most rigorous standards for indoor air quality. We are proud to use an insulation that has been awarded the Gold certification, the highest level of this certification.

When it comes to sustainability, the choice of materials matters. Wood is the only natural, renewable, and sustainable building material with a lighter carbon footprint than steel or concrete. It reduces greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 60% compared to alternative materials. Active forest management - or forest thinning - mitigates wildfires, cuts carbon emissions, replenishes area waterways, expands wildlife habitat, and creates jobs in rural areas.

A tight thermal envelope is vital for year-round comfort and energy savings in your home. Timber Block's innovative R-30 or optional R-36 insulating system surpasses North American building codes, minimizing thermal bridges and ensuring energy efficiency. Our factory-controlled insulation process basically eliminates insulation voids, preserving your home's performance.

Residential construction

Maximizing the use of wood in construction can have a significant impact on carbon reduction. Estimates suggest that utilizing wood could remove approximately 21 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually, equivalent to taking 4.4 million cars off the road per year! Timber acts as a carbon sink, storing carbon within its structure. This not only lessens the environmental impact of the building process but also contributes to long-term sustainability, making timber frame houses a conscientious and eco-friendly choice for a greener future.
